Historian working at the intersection of Christianity and American Public Life
We have to know how we got here if we’re going to have any hope of finding our way faithfully forward.
Welcome! I am a historian who teaches, writes, and speaks about the intersection of Christianity and public life in the modern United States. I am an Associate Professor at Princeton Theological Seminary, where I also serve as Director of PhD Studies. In addition, I am an Editor at Large at William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, where I focus on acquiring crossover history titles, and a Senior Co-Editor for the Journal of Presbyterian History.
